KTU Stem Cell Laboratory

Description
Operating within Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) in Trabzon, Turkey, this advanced biomedical infrastructure encompasses the Atigen-Cell Cell and Gene Therapy Center at KTÜ Technopark—featuring European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified cleanroom production units for stem cell, cord blood processing, and cellular therapies—alongside the Farabi Hospital Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation Unit and advanced biotechnology research laboratories (including İLAFAR). Spanning a total facility area of 16,000 m², the complex requires ultra-clean, contamination-free, and high-precision environmental controls. The mechanical contracting scope delivered end-to-end MEP, specialized cleanroom HVAC, and automation infrastructure across the 16,000 m² footprint. Technical execution included high-efficiency cleanroom air handling with multi-stage HEPA filtration, positive/negative pressure zone isolation, complete sanitation and laboratory drainage networks, central automatic fire protection, and an integrated Building Management System (BMS) for continuous monitoring and control of critical environmental parameters.
